Collaborative Drawings

When i approached a classmates drawing I was a little nervous. I thought that I might mess up someones artwork. Once I figured out what needed to be done I looked at it and pictured how I was going to draw it in the way I see it. So I looked at the set up and then the paper. I took my charcol and drew light drawings first and then drew over them a little bit darker to show depth and value. When I returned to my drawing after everyone had made changes to it I was surprised. I think that my drawing went a long way and there were still somethings that I could change. I told myself it wasnt my drawing and I found way more details that I could correct in the drawing, espically when it came to proportions. In order to finish my drawing I worked on proportions and value to create my drawing and make it have more depth and life. It turned into a whole nother drawing when I was finished compared to when I started and the original peice.

the one that felt more natural to me was the free draw. because i could draw it how i wanted to and not how it is put up there to be. I think that it is also nice because it is your own and you dont have to compare it to everybody's. Although the drawing from observation was fun i still like the free draw more to express myself.
